M.E.T.S.S. SENIOR SOFTBALL LEAGUE: 

GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE WAIVER
AND RELEASE 2023


The attached signers release, waive, discharge, and, covenant not to sue the New Jersey Senior Softball Association, Inc. or  its’ affiliated Leagues, their respective administrators, directors, agents, coaches, and other representatives of the organization, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers, and if applicable, owners ,and leasers of premises and fields used to conduct the event, all of which are hereinafter referred to as “releases”, from demands, losses, or damages on account of injury, including death.  In addition, they individually agree to hold harmless the following Leagues, THE 60+ MORRIS –ESSEX TUESDAY MORNING LEAGUE, THE 60+ SATURDAY MORNING LEAGUE, THE 50+WEEK NIGHT LEAGUE, THE 60+WEEK NIGHT LEAGUE, AND THE 69+LEAGUE, its sponsors and field owners, and all communities and their representative-harmless of any responsibilities, financial or otherwise, due to any injury received while playing, practicing, or traveling to and from events or while participating in any league or association activity. All signees of the form understand that certain risks of injuries are inherent in participating in the game of softball and having full knowledge of such risk, voluntarily assume these rights on their own.  IT IS MANDATORY THAT PITCHERS WEAR A PROTECTIVE MASK (SHINE GUARDS, AND OTHER PROTECTIVE APPARATUS ARE OPTIONAL) WHILE PARTICIPATING IN ANY AND ALL PITCHING ACTIVITES BEFORE AND DURING SCHEDULED GAMES.

CODE OF ETHICS STATEMENT:

As a participant in any of the above-mentioned leagues, I agree to conduct myself as a responsible gentleman on and off the field, and that when playing I will:
  1.  Abide by the current softball guide and playing rules.
  2.  Accept the decisions of the umpires and team manager in the “spirit” of good sportsmanship.
  3. Not taunt, degrade, nor initiate a physical altercation with my opponent that may cause injury to others or self.
  4. Never direct abusive or profane language at officials, opponents, and/or spectators.
  5. Not commit any act that could be considered unsportsmanlike conduct. If a player commits an act that is deemed unsportsmanlike, that player will ejected from the game, fined $50.00, and will not participate in the next scheduled game.  
  6. Any other violation of the above will be subject to disciplinary action as recommended by the Commissioner and determined by the Board of Directors.
  7. I confirm that I will not use any bat which: 1) is made of Titanium; 2) has altered (original manufacturer) markings; 3) exceeds the 1.2 BPF bat performance standard; 4) does not have  2001 or 2004 ASA/USA approval marking on it.  Further, I will not use any bat if I am in doubt about whether or not it meets one or more of these four (4) specifications.
